Hard knocking when steering

As the title says, I feel/hear a hard knock when I steer the truck. Usually at speeds less then 10 mph, say around a corner, or pulling into a parking spot. Ive looked up under the truck for any loose parts, and even asked the guys at the tire shop to look around when they were rotating the tires, but nothing. I really dont know if its part of the steering controls or maybe the coilovers adjusting the the weight each time I turn, regardless, its worrying me - more to the point of, I dont want to be driving down the street and the front end fall off!

Anyone have any ideas or similar problems?

Note: the truck will also make the sound when I put the truck in reverse to back into a spot.

Thanks!

If its 4x4 check the front axles where they connect into the front end housing. I had one were those seals tore and the axle had some play in it. It had vibrations in steering and some noises over bumps.
