smart or not smart?

275/60/20 on 08 250? my brother sold his dodge 1500, but keep aftermarket wheels and tires.i sold my camper, so i don't tow. would it be a bad idea to put those tires on my truck? almost free vs $1300-$1500, but i thought i would ask forum first. thanks

Not unless they're load range E. If they're not, I wouldn't bother...

that was my main concern. brother's are load xl, 2998 lbs compared to load e, 3750 lbs. probably spent the money, get the tires truck is supposed to have.

I (unknowingly) made the mistake of running XLs instead of Load Range E tires once (on my Diesel Excursion) and will NEVER do that again; it was downright dangerous...

It's nice to score if/when you can, but passing in this case might be the smarter thing to do...and I know it's not easy with tires for our trucks as expensive as they are!
