I am just curious as to why these trucks blow so much smoke? I ask because my buddy just bought a 6.0 with some mild mods (tuner, exhaust, intake) and under normal driving and WOT he doesn't blow. Unless I am really light on the throttle it won't blow, but under normal driving and WOT it most definitely blows (Boost/fuel set to 0 on mini). When I had my dpf/cat on it didn't blow at all and now I have just the dpf delete. The whistle on those 6.0's sounds freaking sweet too, but the 6.4 blows it away in every category imo, except for smoking!

More fuel, dual sequential turbo, less lag time, completely different motor. It just means your running rich. If you lighten off the pedal a bit, you will have less smoke. Should only smoke for the first second until the turbo is a full tilt. If you are blowing endless amounts of smoke, even at WOT, you might have an issue. Most likely the issue is your heavy foot. Personally, I LOVE IT!

I can't wait till h&s releases the customer control tuning. This thing smokes even on stock power w/ the off-boost fueling set at zero. I hate it. Love everything else about the truck and the tuning

You can make your buddies 6.0 smoke like a freight train to, its all in how big of a tune you are running.

Yes this is how I feel, love everything about the truck but hate the smoke. I always catch myself looking in the passanger side mirror everytime I hit the throttle to see how much it smokes. If I feather the throttle for the first couple of seconds when getting into the throttle it won't smoke.

Edit- I love everything minus the smoke and horrible sounding speakers

These trucks have a strong fuel system. As has been stated. Also my truck puffs a bit on take off but that's pretty much it unless I really get on it, say 40% throttle +. Even at WOT its not a thick black smoke, more of a dark/medium haze, nothing compared to the tuned cummins around here, they smoke like a freaking coal train!
What tune is your buddy running on his 6.0? Did he change his turbo out? Maby I'm wrong but it sounds weird for a 6.0 not to smoke at all at WOT?
