Bought a stant coolant cap for my fathers 08 powerstroke. Stant caps bad?
Good move or not? Yeah I watch bald bills video and I heard the guys a goof, then I heard that stant coolant caps suck. Should I just return the cap and put the OEM cap back on? Anyone know why stant are bad?

I saw the same video posted on here awhile ago. I personally, haven't done the "upgrade." Curious what others have to say.

vid made me paranoid! went to woodridge ford (alberta advantage will know where that is) and i got the newest cap that ford makes. gave me piece of mind! I should have just bought a tester and seen is the newest cap held the standard 16psi.

I have also seen the video and it does make a lot of since even though Bill can be a bit extreme and is great at exaggerating things. The video did make me check my coolant cap and I noticed it was slightly bubbled, so I went to FORD and bought a new FORD OEM cap.
The new style FORD OEM cap does have a bigger spring than the original OEM ones did. I feel much better spending a few extra bucks on a FORD OEM cap than some cheap chin ease crap at the Auto Parts store. |

There's been at least two revisions to the OEM cap so if you haven't replaced it for a few years it would be cheap insurance to put a new one in.
