MPG and Cleaning

Well my story goes like this. My 2010 6.4 MPG seems to be decreasing instead of increasing as the truck gets older. It also appears to me that my truck doesnt seem to be cleaning properly. I have a 430 mile trip to and from work at which point my truck never goes into cleaning. But as soon as i slow down below 45 or so it tells me to drive to clean. After 8 hrs of driving last thing i wanna do is drive somemore. Also noticed on serveral occasions after i have driven along time and stop at a red light and go to take off or slow down getting on ramp, when i get in the pedal it starts blowing white smoke and runs like crap. when this happens on red lights it will do it 3 or 4 red lights in a row then will run like fine. Is this normal?
What are most of you 6.4's with the DPF getting MPG's?

Make sure your draining any water that might be in the system, thats what I was told when I that same issue with my 08. as far as the timing of the "Drive to Clean Exhaust" you may want to have your Stealership check for Codes, recalls, and or updates to your job. personally I would run down to your local auto store and have them pull the codes first then take it to your Stealership and see if they match up! ya know.....
