New to me 6.4 and I have a few ?''s

Just bought a 08' 350 CC w/ 21,500 miles on it. Checked trans fluid and it had minor amount of sediment on the dip stick and a rusty like film on the majority of the dip stick as well. Called the dealer they recommended a flush and new in- line filter. They said that it was moisture build up that caused that. Anybody heard of this issue? Secondly, I noticed the same sediment/ residue on the inside and the fuel cap. Just looking for some other opinions/ suggestions.

Thanks and sorry for being so long winded.

Hmm, could possibly be because the previous owner never used it. That's something I need to check, I bought my '08 last november and it only had 7000 miles on it.

I am guessing all of that is because the truck obviously sat more than it was driven.

I really hope thats all it is. Ford recommended a trans flush w/ new filter. Just curious if the flush would damage the tranny and if simply changing the trans fluid would suffice.

I probably would just drop the pan and change the filter and fluid. Also you might want to consider the external transmission filter from diesel site.
