trade 7.3 for 6.4?

hi guys,
I am at a crossroad and need some help making a decision. i have an 01 f350 dually crew cab 4x4 with an auto trans. The trans is gone. the truck has 112k on it. i was looking at the option of trading it in on a 6.4. Still stuck on trading it in or fixing what i got.. also ill be needing a new set of injectors in the next 20k. my 7.3 has a ts chip airaid intake with a k&n and a 4" turbo back.. Just trying to get a feel for what i would need to to do to the 6.4. i know that the egr and dpf are issues. How hard is it to do the egr delete? i have been told that the cab has to come off?? Any production dates to stay away from or look for? Trying to stay under 25k total. figure my truck is worth about 18k, assuming it had a trans worth a hoot in it. any help is much appreciated.

Well if you want to trade it in you will want to put a new trans and injectors in your 7.3, even then you might get lucky to get 8k on a trade in. Your truck is not worth 18K with the market the way it is.

The 6.4 is a nice truck but you do alot of pulling i would keep the 7.3. I love the ride and the look of my 6.4. It does good pulling but you dont get very good MPG out of it, even with a dpf delete and tune. The cab DOES not have to come off to do a egr delete. That is crazy money and good for you...upgrade before the fuel prices kill the resale value

okay not trying to be mean but if some idoit wants to give you that much i would do it. A bank wont even loan that much on that truck. I had a 02 7.3 i sold for 13k with only 100k on it. I had it for sale for a year and kept dropping the price. If you do a trade in you will no see over 10k
