New to powestroke 6.4's..looking at a 08 with 100k...need help..
I just sold my 07 Dodge 2500 5.9 Cummins and looking to get an 08-09 F-250 6.4 4x4. I'm looking at other Dodges as well, but I found some good deals on 6.4 trucks with about 100k on the odo. I'm wondering how reliable these trucks are since they do not look as easy to work on as my Cummins. I plan on doing an H&S black maxx, intake, exhaust (dpf delete), and EGR delete. I don't want to run the truck too hard since it will be my daily driver. Any advice is appreciated.
Also, what kind of mpg do these trucks get before and after mods? |

well i dont think they will be as reliable as the 5.9 cummins. that being said do the dpf delete and do the tuner to get rid of the regen cycle. the early 08 had some radiator problems.

If it's a job 1 truck I would stay away from it. And what year of dodges are you looking at?

It's all about how the previous owner took care of it you could buy a used 08 and it will be the best truck you've ever owned you could buy a 10 with 20k and have to replace the motor. Although that's unlikely. Get an oasis report and see if the previous owner can provide maintenance record that means way more then if it's a job 1 ,2 or 3. I have 160k on my very early job 1 (build date 01/07) my biggest problem was a egr valve that was stuck they fixed it under waranty and took 2 hours of my time

The biggest problem with the job one was the rad leaking and I can just about guarentee you if your buying a job 1 that problem was solved a long time ago

I'm looking at any year as long as it is at least is an extended cab and a short bed 4x4. I found me a nice 12v that I'm going to see on Tuesday also.

What do you mean by job 1,2,3? And what is an oasis report?

Yeah I'm going to miss my truck but it was just way too nice and worth too much money not to sell it. It never gave me a problem.
