very bad things. very tough choices.
well what I thought was the 6.4 tick turned out to be a roller lifter seizing. Faced with the following choices
1. replace cam, lifter, all associated parts, about 6900.00 2. have new short block installed, 8999.00 w/12 mo warranty only from the heads down, not including the heads. 3. see if someone wants to buy it and fix it and just get out from under it. I owe 12,000.00 on the truck. wishing id never seen this truck. I bought it because my gas burner was getting a lot of miles on it and I've always heard that diesels were good for 500,000 miles. the mechanic says he doesn't understand why the lifter failed because the inside of the engine was the cleanest he's ever seen. just sick and now I have also missed 2 days at my store and am 525 miles from home. They might, at least maybe part of it. It's worth a phone call to find out.
