Doing my first oil change. What oil is recommended for a 08 6.4

It says in your manual, 5w40 is what your looking for. Go synthetic if you can swing it.

Ran 15W40 Rotella for a year then switched to Rotella 5W40 synthetic

i go the simple route. every 5k miles, 3 jugs motorcraft 15w40 and motorcraft filter at walmart. i keep the receipts in the glove box just in case.

Ran Rotella-T6 5W40 for several years. No have just Rotella-T 15W40 and can't say I can tell any difference.

A Fumoto valve makes draining much easier. Once installed you can climb under the truck and place a gallon jug under, open the valve until the jug is full. Swap for the next and repeat until drained.

Only 3 gallons? 12 quarts in a 15 quart system?

Motorcraft jugs are 5 not 4 like all others, made for Ford !
