couple questions about coolant bottle
I just bought truck a month ago. I have noticed that the coolant in the degas bottle seems to look ok but there is a coating along the upper portion of the bottle, like a dryed powder. It is close to the same color as the coolant. What is this coating, how'd it get there, and has anyone cleaned it out?
The other question is I recently purchased a new coolant cap from advance. When I put it on it dont click when tightened like the original. Is this the right cap? Does the replacement caps click or just tighten up snug? Dont want it to build up too much pressure or anything. |

Especially with the ford gold i would recommend a coolant filter to get rid of the casting sand and crap in the cooling system.

with that many miles i'd get some coolant test strips and have the coolant tested for nitrites...maybe your selling dealer will do it for you.
