How many guys on here are dpf deleted and

have ever been in trouble because of it?
And do you tow a lot? I am considering buying another dpf and cat to gut out, but would really rather just buy a whole new exhaust!
Any input would be great. I just get real nervous about getting pinched for it..

I am straight piped all the way. No trouble. After the delete it felt that my truck had a switch flipped and wasn't restricted anymore. EGT'S are good while towing. Very good choice!!

Guess it really depends where you live how strict they are on emissions. I would say delete it and you will be one happy driver!

I was so worried about doing it because I was in and out of the shop before 36k for numerous strange things- noises, white smoke, a million regens. I new I needed warranty. I finally got fed up at around the 36k mile mark and stuff fell off the bottom. I literally kicked it loose and luckily it was strapped up because it would have come down on me with all that dead weight. Now I'm at 61k and have not been to the dealer for warranty, questionable things, anything! The delete was less expensive than the warranty I bought with the truck. No problems here with it.

just tuned our 6.4 at 17k miles and its a sweet truck. alot easier and cheaper probably just to buy exhaust. if you have yearly emission testing i can see where your question is coming from. ohio we dont have testing and so i bought a delete pipe because i already had 5" dpf back but i really want the sound of the full 5". it just makes the truck run so much better. we just got back from checking out our 2012 6.7 down at the dealership and my dad is telling me to get the delete ordered haha. its just a shame having the dpf on these trucks.

That's really what it comes down to. In 2008 when they first announced diesels were going to have to go through with smog testing. I went through 2 different roadside checkpoints which were looking at diesels specifically. Haven't seen one since, but you would be surprised at some of the crap they have.

SmogTips.com - Roadside Smog Check Checkpoints

If you do a search, you'll find all sorts of references about them. Most are California related, but there are a few in other states.

Just a matter of time before it comes to a state near you.
