looking for a 6.4

lookin for a 6.4, im wondering how reliable they are, as well as how hard they are to work on. i know its standard procedure to pull the cab for certain things, but i probably wont have a 2 post lift to pull that type of procedure anytime soon, any input would help. thanks.

Everyone on here will give you these two answers either they are great trucks or they break down to much. It is like anyother truck you get. One might run forever with no issues the other might die the day you get it home. It is a 50/50% really. I have been lucky with mine and only had to replace the belt tensioner and radiator cap and i have almost 200k

plus one to that.... i bought new in oct of 08,,,,i have 45,000 on the clock now. i have been tuned for almost a year now.....only issues ive had is a radiator, under warranty and a seat heater under warranty....its my daily driver and i use it to tow my travel trailer and i haul some things around at work from time to time.....i dont think you will find anything wrong with these trucks that you wouldn't find with any other.....vehicles are a lot more technical these days and are prone to break down more due to small parts failing... ie sensors,and the like

i dont think there is a better looking truck out there, and as far as performance , well a tuned 6.4 will destroy any of the others dollar for dollar spent on mod's

You'll need to start on to of your maintenance more so them other trucks. But if youdo, it should be very reliable.

how do you figure, i do my oil every 3-4k, coolant every 30k, diffs, once every couple years. whats the reccommended maintenace schedule?

I meant to enter, "stay on top of".

On these engines, the extreme duty schedule seems to be the best.

im always on here, learning about 6.0s, occasionaly about 7.3s, because my buddys have these trucks and im always fixing stuff, and im in the market for a ford, where does it say that i cant be on here because i dont drive a blue oval? the whole thread is im looking for a 6.4, that shouldve explained why im here..
