QUESTION??? New to 6.4's

I have been buying a few 08 and 09 fleet/lease return trucks since they seem to be pretty cheap for some reason.
The question I have is: What if anything is something simple one could do to these trucks to make them run like crap??

I know stupid question, but I ask because I just looked at 4 or 5 trucks on Monday and they was all running great with very little blow by but today I went to offer on them this morning (after a couple other guys looked at them) and 3 of the nicer trucks was running rough as hell. (like the 99/03 7.3 trucks with one bank of the injector harness unplugged or an 03/07 6.0 with a couple of injectors unplugged). Then this afternoon I went to pick up the one I bought and looked at the 3 that was running bad this morning and they was running great again when the new buyers was driving out.

Is there something that could be disconnected and still let the truck run??

This no just on cold starts, they had these trucks running like they was only running on 4 or 6 of the 8 cyl. and the engine temp was already to a 1/4 on the gauge. I checked them a couple of times with in a hour time frame and they was still doing it but maybe an hour late when I picked up the one I bought there was guys under the hood of the rough running trucks and when they left the lot the trucks was back to running good.

I tried unplugging the egr and DPF sensors on mine and all it did was set the CEL.

Do the 6.4's have plugs for each injector like the 6.0's do??? casue I have bought a bunch of 6.0's from the same company and have found someone has been unplugging a couple of injectors to make them run bad and throw a CEL.
