Thoughts?!?!
I drive my truck only on the weekends. I am blessed with work providing me a work vehicle. Now this being said, is there anything special I need to do? Maybe something I am forgetting? I figure I will put about 9000-10000 miles on it per year. I change the oil more frequently(6000 miles) and will most likely make fuel filter changes every 12-15K. When I changed my fuel filters about a month ago, I noticed they looked very clean for having 19000 miles on them. Speaking of fuel though, it can sometimes take a more or more to drain a full tank and then refill. Should I be adding additives? I let the truck warm up for about 5-10 minutes before taking off and let it idle down before I shut her down. Anything else?

While diesel does support bacterial growth if your driving it at least every weekend I wouldn't worry about it as long as you keep your tank full so there is the least amount of air space as possible. Personally I would also do the "harpoon" mod so there is even less air space. Also, run a double dose of diesel fuel additive but a winter version as it has more de-watering additive in it then a summer version.

I see no problem with that if u run it every weekend. My dad has had his 08 off the show room floor in 08 and only runs it every once in awhile with no issues. He does nothing extra to it. Had it 4 years an has just over 40 thousand miles on it
