6.4 motor?
hey guys been thinking about trading in my 6.0 for a 6.4, my buddies got a 08 6.4 beautiful truck has a little over 50k on it H&S tuner exhaust and intake. Unfortunately about a week ago it started dumping white smoke took it to the local ford dealer, and they just got back to him saying there's no compression in cylinder 1 and its prolly a rod. Say hes gonna have to replace the whole block. What im wondering is this a common problem/know problem for just adding the common power adders or just really bad luck?

You hear about this every now and then. If you're going to do the DPF delete, it's worth doing a full EGR delete for reliability and longevity purposes.

sounds like bad luck. I don't really see how a rod yields zero compression though.

ya if i do end up trading i was gonna do exhaust, intake, tuner, egr delete, and then was thinking of even getting the sperrco (I think thats how its spelled) intercooler. Is the intercooler even worth getting? or just for guys with aftermarket turbos.

mabie it was a valve? and it probably damaged the rod or something, he didnt quit explain it in to much depth. He said they did run tests and there is definitly no compression in cylinder 1.

If its just a daily driver just delete the Dpf and cat and drive it. Maybe an egr delete. If you buy all these mods and all you do is drive your truck like 99% of people you're wasting your money. Im a poor boy and I run h&s mini maxx and 5"flo-pro downpipe back exhaust and have had 0 issues. If you race alot then i would worry about coolers and pipes ect. Ill catch he'll for saying this but some people just want to make money on you. Ill take the heat tho.
