Low egt questions. - Ford Powerstroke Diesel Forum

Low egt questions.

So at an idle my truck is like 220-230. 70 mph cruising maybe around 600-700. This is on the HD300 tune with s&b intake and 4" turbo back exhaust flo pro egr delete and rotella ELC coolant. Also when stopping somewhere i never have to wait for the egt to get below 400 because by the time i stop and park it is already down to like 250. Question is something wrong with my truck or do these 6.4 run way cooler than the 6.0. Cause my 6.0 at idle was around 300-320 and about 750-900 at 70mph. Always had to wait to cool down when stopping.

Also i think the crazy low egt is causing my truck not to warm up very fast. Only gets to about 175-180 high idling. Warms to 192-194 when driving. Myabe my truck is too efficient. Hahahaa

That sounds the same as my 6.4. When its cold outside mine idles to below 300 real quick when I stop. When its really hot outside mine took a little longer to cool down.

Good to know. Ya they are like crazy lower egts than my old 6.0. Not that it is a bad thing mind you.

ya i know. my '04 6.0 was the same way.
