buying a 6.4l

it has 160k miles and is completely stock no chips,exhaust,etc. every oil change on time at 3k miles 1 owner should i be scared i really would like to have it cause i am selling my 2000 7.3 any opinions greatly appriciated

19000... i think its a steal but seen some bad posts about them kinda scares me lol but i seen alot of people have had really good luck and i have heard they are strong as a ox

Just have to delete egr and dpf and they will last forever. I just got mine, just need to do ur normal look around cheaking for leaky fluids and what not. If who ever ur buying it from will let u have a shop look at it I would take it to well known deasel shop and expect to pay some money to have it looked over good, but its worth it cause if u purchase it and something goes bad it could mean big money. Now mine is pretty much bone stoke and have put 6K miles on it since I got it with no issues so fare.

The only reason I say take it to a shop is cause the milleage and the deal ur getting, not trying to scare u away from the truck cause they are really good trucks.

well its like 5 hours away lol so shop will be back here. i am certified machanic but not in diesel's i know the look down but when it comes to that brain motor 6.4l i will get lost in its smartness lol... how many miles is on yours?

Mines got almost 80 thousand, and I pop the hood on it and want to cry lol. But what makes me think its ok is I see them for sale with 200 to 300 thousand miles on them an still running.

I think 19 might be a little high. I bought mine with 160k for 17,500. See if you can get them to go down on it. If not id still do they are good trucks and you wont regret the trade.

yeah i want it pretty bad its KR and interior is in mint condition.... i really think i am going to buy it.. cause i need some power for some of the equipment i pull and the 7.3 is good truck but take alot to get power without the egts and what not...

Unless they have the documentation on oil changes at 3000 miles they may be lying to you. There's no reason why these truck should have oil changes that often unless maybe they consider the work it was doing "severe duty". That strikes me as either being BS or possibly rich and wasteful since changing oil every 3k for 160k equals alot of cash.
