Yellow Wire???

Does anyone know if this wire is one of the upfitter switch wires or if it powers from something else. It is in the wire loom with the plug for my 7/4 pin wiring harness for trailering at the rear of the truck next to the receiver hitch. It's rubber capped like the rest of the upfitter switches come from the factory.

If I remember correctly (am getting old though) it is for a high mount center brake lamp. Like if you were to install a camper shell or utility body thats blocks the factory light on the back of the cab, this wire is there to hook up another one on the camper shell/ utility body.

Ryan, just hook a volt meter to it and a ground and hit the brakes or shift it to reverse...

Antonm is correct on this...I was putting my ranch hand bumper on day before yesterday. When hooking up the reverse lights, I found that same wire. It was wrapped with a tag labeled "Center Brake Lamp"

Yellow Wire???

Bringing this back. I was just under there looking around and saw the same wire. I am wanting another light back there. What else can this be used for? Is it only powered by brake pedal pressure?

It will have power whenever the brakes are applied.
