Tranny problems

All right, I might have a suncoast rebuild kit in my near future. The other day I was getting on the interstate and when the TC locked in 5th gear it slammed pretty hard and now it doesnt feel like it has the power it use to. It feels like it is slipping only in 5th though but, here is the kicker my RPM's are the same as they allways have been. Im no transmission expert by anymeans what so ever, I remember being talk on here about the selinoids going out pretty often.

If anyone has any Ideas on what it could be please let me know, im leaning on the TC going out.

I thought you were talking about a tranny hitting on you at a bar and wouldn't leave you alone...

Seriously though, if you have access to AutoEnginuity, you can verify the amount of torque converter slip. It may just be stuck in limp mode and need to be reflashed and/or have the relearn procedure done. You don't mention any tuning; are you running a tuner? If so, switch back to stock and see if the problem goes away.

PS. I have also upgraded to the Gogo Diesel Direct Drive Solenoid and my "slamming" into gear problem has gone away. Also something else to consider is that these solenoids use tranny fluid for their operation. Are you current on your transmission fluid maintenance? If not, debris can collect in the solenoids causing similar issues.

Its not in limp mode, and I have only 12200 miles on this fluid. I should have clarified that, when I said it did not have the power I ment it's sluggish past 55 when my TC locks and yes I have a HS mini and the tranny and engine are not throwing codes. I might re install the program and do the relearn process again. One more thing were exactly is that solenoid located and thanks for the help
