Tried getting my stock steering dampener off last night. Replacing it with a new one. Looks like it's pressed in on the steering shaft. Tried prying, hitting the bottom with a brass hammer, putting a wrench on the bottom and hitting that. The darn thing won't budge. :dunno:
you take the nut off the bolt and hit the end of the bolt.....2.5 min...:dunno: did you replace it with an aftermarket in the same location? and are you running any other aftermarket stabilizers? mounted off the axle and connected close to the drag link? i took off my factory and replaced with a dual set up.. just wondering if anyone has run duals and one at the factory mount at the same time....
I got another factory(Motorcraft) one at my dealership. That's what the guys at PTP recommended. The triple shock setup has been working good for me. Started getting some death wobble, but the on set was so slow(over the last 8-10 months that I thought the shocks were going). Come to find out while I was replacing the shocks that the top factory mount was a little loose and also the center bolt on the right horizontal shock was loose. Everything's nice and tight again.
BTW Love the paint.
