Upfitter switch wires.
I know where they are supposed to be. There is a bundle with the white tag with the colors and description and there are four other wires that should be my upfitter switch wires. The colors do not match what the owners manual says and I can't get anywhere with voltage and continuity tests. WTH?

I installed the switches in my truck and put the wires in the pocket under the steering wheel. I think that is the same location if they are factory installed.

I have factory installed switches. I was going to do the high idle mod. But I want to make sure I know what is what. I know where the wires are. They all have black tips. But here are like 12 that have a white piece of tape with colors and abbreviations. Are the upfitter wires within that bunch? Then there are 4 slightly thicker gauge wires that I thought were the upfitter switch wires but the colors don't match and through testing don't seem to have anything to do with my switches.

The upfitters are only 4 wires and they do have black tips on them, no labels. Colors should be as noted above. How are you testing them? DCV, wire to ground, ACC on, switch on, should get you >12VDC. I would not do continuity checks since you need power for the switches to function, and energized resistance checks are a big bad no no.

I finally found them. They were tucked up there further than I was looking. The other 4 I was looking at were pass through wires to the engine compartment. Thanks.

I wish I could find the switches. But then I will probably have to buy something else...
