Sulphur/Rotten Egg smell on idle
Last night i was on my way home with the wife and kid. When we would stop say at a light or stop sign i would smell a sulphur/rotten egg smell. At first i thought... natural gas, car in front of me, something else. Well as we went to different areas of town i kept smelling it when i was ideling (even behind different vehicles) My question is what the hell smells like sulphur?? Also as a side note. Trucks battery's dead as can be this morning.

It was the batteries. They were probably cooking to death. Get two new ones, then have the alternator checked at the same time and probably replace it otherwise you'll keep cooking them. Good thing they didn't explode on your trip.

it was one battery. One was new the other was very old. I don't remember the date but it may have been original to the truck. Thanks. Now if i can get that damn oil leak figured out.

You might be ok with just replacing one battery but it might be best to do both while you're in there or at least load test the good one along with the alternator.
