Where to pick up oil temp?
I am putting together the parts to do a 3 pillar gauge pod. I'd like to install an oil temp gauge. Where should I put a sensor. I would like to avoid tapping into the oil pan in possible. I was thinking about one of those transender things from diesel manor.

Where would you put such a thing for oil temp? That is made to clamp on a hard line. There isn't any to clamp to for oil temp.
There are three spots where you can get it. From the oil cooler cover. You could use the port for oil pressure (since it is not used by the PCM) using an adapter (metric threads, I don't know the size though), or by installing a "T" into the temp port (more adapters, not as accurate). Separate purchase of an aluminum oil filter cap with a hole tapped on top (diesel manor has those too). |

that's why I am on here asking. I thought there were some lines running around near the turbo. They may be fuel lines. I am def no diesel expert for sure. I don't know where the other ports are. Meantime, I will look into that oil filter cap. that sounds easy.

I found that cap on Diesel Manor. Pretty sweet but pricey.
