finally got my exhaust set up the way I wanted it

my '08 was/is pretty well loaded out... has the chrome package/fx4 style grill, chrome tow hooks, chrome mirrors, 20's, etc.

but it just had the standard exhaust tip.

I'm not really a huge "chrome" guy. Most of my other trucks I blacked out and intentionally got rid of all the chrome.

But with this truck having the service body on it, it's kinda cool to have it kinda decked out versus all the service trucks w/ black sealed beam headlights, steel wheels, etc.

Initially I did a stealth delete on this truck and just gutted the NOx/DPF. I liked it fine, but I really wanted the factory chrome tip. I had another dual tip that I cut just to see what was up and it will slide right over a 4" pipe. I finally found a factory chrome tip and put a 4" straight pipe system on the truck and welded the factory chrome tip to it. I hit the weld with some gas tank zinc spray that almost perfectly matches the aluminized pipe.

I wanted it to have a factory look but still have the flow and sound of the aftermarket setup. And I wanted the chrome just to let them haters know.

camera is messed up at the moment, but it's about as factory looking as I could get it as far as the tip location/angle/etc.

oh, and I just ordered a new steering wheel from Tasca. Trying to keep this old girl fresh

That has to be the nicest service body truck ever! Don't think I've ever seen a service body on a truck with chrome accessories and leather seats before. Looks good. I suppose if you make your money with your truck you might as well have it the way you want it since you probably spend 10-12 hours a day with it. Even the interior is clean!

I try to keep it clean. The bed is an old bed, but from the cab forward, the truck is as clean as I can afford to keep it. I'd like to put a nice fresh bed on it, but this one gets the job done, and until my house is paid off, it's going to keep getting it done! LOL

I'll sell my house before I ever pay it off. Look forward to the pictures on how this turned out. There was a thread a little while ago about someone trying to get a stock looking tip made, but 6" or something, but I have not heard anything on that lately...
