6.4 rear sway bar??
This may be a silly question, but I dot have my truck around me now so I'm going to ask it anyway. Does my 08 f250 fx4 have a rear away bar? If not do you reccomend adding one? Might be getting a large camper soon. Also I'm on 3 inches of lift.

I think only trucks that came with the camper prep package from the factory have them. I've seen a few guys around here with them on their trucks but they're pulling some monster fifths around. They say Hellwig is the way to go for an aftermarket sway bar. As for adding one, I suppose on a heavier trailer/load it would help. I believe they also make some that drop far enough to accomodate a lift unlike a bunch of guys that have to disconnect them because of their lifts.

I do have one , and it does come with camper package, the one from the factory is pretty lame, got a Hellwig, I do pull a 5th wheel, after the Hellwig install was able to use less weight in my air bags.

best way to tell if you have a rear swaybar is to look

My 08 DRW has a factory one. No camper package, but I do have the "tow boss" package and its a DRW, don't know if that makes a difference or not.

I just looked and mines does not have it. So it looks like hellwig is the recommended brand?

I'd get a factory setup from a salvage yard

That's a really good idea. I think it will be a rough time finding that. Especially with good bushings and everything.

adding everything up on Tascaparts.com, I came up with about $180 for the factory stuff brand new.
You can't go wrong with Hellwig. I know they have different diameter bars also. But I don't think the factory route is as expensive as you think it might be. |
