Coolant additive?
Went in to the ford house today buddys the parts manager. so i ask was going on with all these coolant problems? he told me that they didnt know there were just told to start adding a coolant additive. anyone know a little more on this?

if your coolant doesn't measure up with the nitrite test strips .... additive will bring level up to 800+.....if when tested it is below 300 you need to drain and put in fresh coolant,putting in additive to bring up to right level from 300 is not allowed.my truck tested below 300 with only 12000 miles so had to get flushed....some guys test at 40,000 miles and are still above 800.....kinda ticked me off in my case,gotta think a bad batch of coolant was used from factory.

they are probably talking about the VC8 i think is the coolant additive. Personally i would just get rid of that coolant and put in some good coolant.

And what is good coolant? U would think the gold one the ford uses would be good but been hearing stuff about it at the same time
|
