Shorter antenna? Recommendations...

Hey guys-

Do you guys have any recommendations on a shorter radio antenna? Mine hits every beam while driving through the parking garage at work.

It looks like the stock antenna is 32" long and I would be looking to shave at least 5 inches off that. Thanks.

Haven't seen any "true" stubby antennas that are 4-5 inches in total length available for the Super Duty but have seen antennas that are between 8 and 13 inches. One thing to consider is that the factory antenna being a few inches taller than the cab is that it serves as a height marker and lets you know if the roof of the truck will clear whatever you're trying to go under. Would much rather whack my factory antenna on something then make my truck a convertible or impromptu truck with a chopped roof.

Stubby Antenna

You can shorten up the factory one. The parts guy at work is really good at it. He pops the ball off of the end, cuts the shaft off, grinds it down a smidge, pounds the ball back on and a little black touch-up paint and it's good to go. I've seen him shorten 2 or 3 of them cause the owner of the vehicle was complaining of the antenna dragging on their garage doors.

Exactly what I did. (although I filed vs grinded)

From the time I took the wrench out of the box until I was spraying paint was about 6 min. Stupid easy.
