Questions about EGR block off plate

if I do the egr block off plates do i need to tune or anything?? Also with the block off plates can the valve still fail and cause problems?? the only reason i want to do the block off is to prevent the valve from ever failing so if it can still fail theres no real point to it. Thanks.

Yes you would need a tuner that will completely turn off the egr function. You can't delete any of the emissions stuff on these trucks with out a tuner that allows you to do so. I would think that it would throw codes and possible go into limp mode

I'm also looking at doing this to my 08 f250 but then saw that the H&S can just turn off the egr. Would there be a need to do a block off plate if it is turned off?
