Custom mount for SCT Livewire

My friend and I made a custom mount using some stainless steel the other night. It fits nicely where the ashtry would go. It attaches using a screw that is already present behind the ashtry. Required no permanent modification to the truck. It's out of the way yet it's still within view if you needed to take a glance at the monitor.

What do you guys think?

I don't believe so. I got mine used so I didn't get one. You can buy windshield mounts but I definetly didn't want that thing up there. Too big.

I have mine up on my windshield, I like having the gauges up there, putting the unit down low like you have yours, keeps it out of the way, but makes it impossible to monitor the gauges. Furthermore, I already used that space up for my auxilary Upfitter Switches.

Cool idea though.

James.

I appreciate it. It's not bad though. With just a quick glance you can see what's going on. I have all my alert lights set so I know if anything crazy is happening. It's nice thought since it keeps it out of the way.

I do agree with ya, on keeping it out of the way. It doesn't bother me too much though, only issue I have right now is the backlighting seems to have failed on it. And sending it in for repair means I cant drive the truck for the amount of time it takes to get it back.

Why do you say you wont be able to drive the truck while it's getting repaired?
