Filters and fluids....

Hello all,

I have been searching the forum for some sort of advice on maintenance for my 08 Powerstroke.

I am looking for the following info:

What fuel filters do you run? Any advice on the Racor filters? AFE?

Transmission fluid type? What filter? AFE? How much fluid is needed? Should I get a new pan gasket? I have a job 1 truck what external filter do I need?

What capacities do the front and rear diffs. Take? What weight gear oil in them? Any new gaskets needed?

Thank you!

Owners manual answers every question you have. Stick to Ford filters.

I buy all my filters at the dealership and keep the receipts just in case something comes up down the road.

I was going to say Owners Manual too. I heard Racor filters are the same as Motorcraft and are made in the USA so you can save a few bucks. Don't be tempted by the Chinese filters that cost like 1/3 the price. I hear they may not seat right. They tranny fluid is synthetic.

Yea, I watched some videos on dieselfiltersonline.com which steered me away from aftermarket fuel filters.

Still not sure about the transmission and differentials though.

After some research my truck is a job one produced in 06/07. I have the 5 speed torqshift transmission with the extra in line external transmission filter as well.

I need to find out which axles that I have now.
