need some 6.4 info

ok well im new to powerstrokes kinda and im looking to get one. i like the 6.4 cause my ol man has one but he has had some egr problems. what with everyone saying job 1 and 2 and so on? whats the difference between them and which ones are better? i was thinking about getting an 09 or 10 just to not have to worry about all the bugs from the 08's. any opinions? and what do yall prefer h&s or spartan? and what would you do to a 6.4 to make it reasonably reliable and powerful?

thanks,
brad

well if you can do an 09 or 10 i would if the deal is right, i would not however worry about an 08,,its very solid with limited issues do to new model . Hand S all the way on tuning..H&S will make it more powerful then you will believe, dpf delete , ccv mod, and at some point a EGR delete and you are good to go, in my opinion....good luck

That's good to hear. I guess it's different for every truck. We have 18k miles on our 08 DRW and the egr went out last month when I was driving it. Oh well. Thanks for the help guys

Job 1's arent bad. Most of the bugs were fixed or covered by warranty. Only real thing for concern is the tcm if you arw going to go high power spartan tunes. Other than that there were some radiator problems fixed by recall, programming, fixed by recall, and i think thats it. Only issues i've had are two leaking radiator hoses and a stuck egr valve (which ford has since upgraded).

Only reason to stay away feoma job 1 is if the things listed above were not fixed under warranty- most important being the venturi tee which addresses the radiator issue as those cost about1k in parts alone. If you can confirm they were fixed and arent planning on runningsuper high hp tunes (tcm runs about 650 bucks) i dont see why you should runaway.
