F250 08' 6.4 are they any good

I am looking at buying an 08 F250 and have read alot of problems with the 6.0, did the 6.4 get any better and is this a reliable engine??
I want a good truck that will last me a while and dont want to spend this much money on something that I will have stuck in the shop all the time.

Yes. The 6.4 was designed to address allot of the issues that arose with the 6.0. Does it mean your not gonna have problems? No. But there not as prone as the 6.0's were.

Main issues on the 6.4 have been the radiator splitting on some vehicles so check the radiator and degas bottle fluid levels regularly to see if there are any leaks. Also, the upper and lower radiator hoses have recently become an issue as the originals were a single o-ring design which have started to develop leaks. The new design incorporates dual o-rings and so far fixes the problem quite well. Water in the fuel can ruin the HPFP quite quickly, so be sure to drain the water separator regularly before something happens. Ford released some updated flashes which are supposed to make the vehicle more sensitive to issues, only time will tell how much better those are. Proper and routine maintenance is a must.

Look under the drivers side for this view,

Behind the bracket where it mounts to the frame, lie on your back and look up, you should see the following,
