What kind of motor oil and oil filter?

Hey, I just bought my first diesel ever. Recently converted from a Nissan Titan to a 2008 F350. I wanted to do some maintenance on the truck and wondered is Rotella Triple Protecton 15w40 is a good oil and what oil filters are good. Thanx.

Use the search function. But yes Rotella 15W-40 is the way to go and use a motorcraft oil filter.

As long as the oil meets the CJ-4 rating it's good. I just answered this question on another forum posting the Shell Rotella's that have the CJ-4 rating.

Whatever you decide to go with, just make sure it says it's CJ-4 rated.
