Ticking noise????
I have a ticking noise that goes with engine speed. What could this be. It does not get louder, but speed does increase with engine RPM's. Any help would be great.

Definately not being a smartass, but is this your first diesel?
If it's a new noise, get your truck up to speed, and coast down a hill-hold a gear manually with the lever and see if the noise goes away when you're off the throttle, and comes back when you get on it. My guess would be that you're hearing the injectors. |

It is my first diesel. It does seem to be a new noise. I will give that a try. Thank you

My bet would be injectors-the test I gave you will allow you to determine that, as coasting down a hill the injectors shut down until you get back on the gas.
You may just be noticing the noises, diesels make all sorts of quirky sounds that take getting used to. |

I only hear it from the left side of the motor. Is this normal injector noise??
