I use the Ford Motorcraft Premium Gold. Be careful which coolants you use as they can cause the cooling system, metals, seals and gaskets to corrode.

the cat rated coolant is safe for our engines. It is what international uses. If you switch tho i would recommend a chemical flushing to get rid of the old coolant.

you will need 4 gallons. You can get the ford coolant at any dealer or you can get the G-05 coolant from any auto parts store. Its the same as the ford gold. Also use distilled water. It would probably be a good idea to flush with VC9. I did and there was a bunch of stuff in the cooling system.
