Exhaust cleaning question

A buddy of mine has an 08 PSD that is at 90K miles now and if he keeps his truck, he wants to know if the exhaust filter can be removed.

He will not do anything to the truck until the warranty is up.

I have told him that this board is a great place to get information, but I think he is scared, lol.

What can be done to help his fuel milage best? And reasonably priced... He is hurting for money, like most of us are these days. He knows the exhaust cleaning feature kills his milage rating.

Thanks in advance for any and all help given.

He will need a programmer that will allow the dpf filter to be removed. Many different programmers out there. The two tunning companies that are really popular for the 6.4 are H&S and spartan. Tons of tunning info on here so do some searching around

Yes, it is possible with the correct tuner and exhaust like amb82 said. I highly suggest taking a look at the H&S Tuners. Feel free to give us a holler with any questions.
