2008-09 tailgate compared to 2010

Anyone know what the difference is between the 08-09 tailgate and the 2010? The 2010 is substantially cheaper from Ford and I don't know why. I am having some body work done and a newer body style tailgate installed and the shop calls back with two different part numbers for the tailgate, one for 08-09 and one for 2010.

What gives?

tailgate without step:
08-09 pn: 8c3z9940700a - $605.92
2010 pn: bc3z9940700a - $368.23

tailgate with step:
2008-2010 pn: 8c3z9940700b - $848.27

Does the one have a backaup camera maybe they are looking one up with the camera

Good thought. I went back and looked at the photocopies and from what I see, the part numbers that I gave above are for the shell only. The remaining parts are needed, cables, top moulding, lock cylinder, etc to make the piece complete.

wow 2010 pn: bc3z9940700a - $368.23. what site did you see this kind of price? looks like that is the lowest price ive ever seen. ive been searching for that part number most of the price are $380+.

That was the price quoted from the body shop. No idea of their source.

the cheap one prolly doesn't have the step and help-up handle....a missquote my guess

I had them order the '10 gate and they got it installed with the new bedside. I won't get it back for a couple more days as I am having them fix a few other dents and dings.

the 2008- 2010 gate with step assembly price is in his post...would not explain difference in price between the 08 and 2010 as both are without the step
