Project VHT night shades complete
I started a little project yesterday and just finished up a few mins ago. I smoked my taillights and side mirror lenses. A 12 dollar can of VHT night shades and a can of dupli color clear coat was all I used. To my surprise it came out really good. I put two coats of spray tint on and three coats of clear coat. Let it dry then buffed the crap out of it with Meguairs ultimate compound to give it a glossy look. I will post some pics tomorrow. It sure beat the $160 bucks a local tint shop wanted to charge me!

Well I was going to post pics but they look like crap in the daylight. I can't get them to shine. I thought they would have the same glossy look as the stock ones. Gotta try something different. Any suggestions?

Have a body paint shop put clear on em.

I may have to go that route. I thought I could work the cleat with a porta cable. It did make it look better but will only get it to a certain point and it's not shiny enough

Ok well I couldnt find the pics from right after they were finished with the clear. So I had the guy that bought it from me send me a couple of them just now. The professional clear coat will really help bring out the shine though.
This is before any clear, just nightshades ![]() And these are now, 2 years later on a di-rty truck. ![]()
