Ghost Mirror

My passenger mirror, lately, has been moving on its own, even when the truck is off. It happened a couple weeks ago and I thought I was going crazy, but I got in my truck this afternoon and it was moved again. So I adjusted it, and kept an eye on it while driving home and sure enough it was moving back and forth

Anyone else have this problem?

Mine did it but only when I unlocked it with the keyless entry. I got frustrated and tore the door apart to look for wiring issues but never found any. I ended up getting mad and switching the memory from 1 to 2 over and over about 4 or 5 times and it stopped. Has not done it again. Never did find out what it was.

You have a demon in your truck. Paranormal activity anyone?

figured out some more... every time I hit a bump it moves, then sort of readjusts itself to the original position.

Another weird fun fact, the bottom mirror even moves on its own (its not electric right?). I got out of the truck to adjust it, got back in and as soon as I took off, it moved! wth.

weird, im just going to take the mirror off

well, more investigating shows that its the mirror casing that is moving. Im guessing something broke and it wont hold the mirror in position so when I hit a bump it rattles the whole thing. Stopping by the dealership, see what they say...

For one side, that doesn't make sense, it only cost me $600 for my passenger side when an 18 wheeler side swiped it one foggy morning 2 months after getting it. My mirrors are the ones with power extend and fold.

James.
