Potential 6.4 owner, please help
I found an 08 supercab 6.4 fully loaded with 120000 on it.
The price is right and the truck looks great. The carfax shows pretty a well maintained truck with all services done through the dealer, but does show the valve cover gaskets to have been replaced twice. Is this a major issue? Also I live in texas but drive back and forth to OU about once every two weeks so need a dependable truck. Im 98% sure i'll do the DPF delete with intake and H&S with the egr disable tunes. What else needs to be done to ensure longevity and Dependability? Will i need to switch out the coolant to an ELC or install a coolant filter like you had to with the 6.0? Or a fuel filter? The truck is a job 1 and seems to have had all the reflashes and updates performed. I'm going to look at the truck saturday so any help or advice would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help. |

Remove the EGR and Coolers. And your DPF delete of course. Good to go.

Are these trucks pretty reliable once this is done?
I drive around texas and oklahoma alot going to college games and hunting and when im home i do tow the gooseneck and cattle trailer some and i dont want another money pit like my 6.0 was. So i guess im wondering if the truck will be reliable for this stuff with proper maintenance? |

well....... i drive mine around, tow my trailer to cali..... head over to the high desert in eastern oregon.....drove to plam springs.......drive it everyday...........dont really under stand your question
