CD Changer Problem

Had to replace a battery last week and since Ive done that my 6 disc in dash cd changer is acting like it is trying to work but it will throw a cd error, it even does it while the truck is shut off, it has been parked for 2 days and when I went out this morning it was running once I started the truck and the radio came on music came out of the speakers from the FM radio but I could still hear the cd changer running then it said cd error. I don't know if I shorted out the eye when the battery went bad or what any help would be great.

its a common problem...There is no fix for it, except replacing the unit. Ford doesn't repair them either, only replaces the unit. It happened on my 08 f150.

I go into better detail of how it was explained to me.

Imagine the cd player as an elevator, the error is in the loading and unloading of the discs. (opening and closing the door) that's why it does it on its own and at random times. It is trying to fix itself but its stuck in limbo...
