Yup you read that right, DONT powerwash bugs off your stock chrome grill, because if you happen to have just one teeny tiny stone chip it will bubble about a 2" circle of the chrome. I wanted to swap out for one of those white fx4 grills anyway.

Yup it does but I have no-one to blame but myself, I should have looked for chips but it just didn't occur to me.

How large of a pressure washer did you use? I have used mine a few times but its a cheap 100 dollar unit and I used the spray setting rather than the concentrated setting for a lack of a better term.

i just use laundry soap and a mitt. cleaned all the bugs off no sweat, even cleaned the front plate and it was still filthy from the truck i sold.

Sorry car wash not portable pressure washer, so I don't know the pressure or nozzle.

So, now I know what happened to my original grille. Same thing happened to me 2 months after I got my truck. The dealer said it was a manufacturer defect, said that there was a TSB about it, a certain batch of grilles weren't properly cured, and they replaced it under warranty. The new one has held up for 14 months and at least a dozen power washes.

Looks like that irish luck was takin a break at the pub.Mine does that from time to time as well . On a positive note i bet the white fx grill will look great.
