Looking To Buy A New 2010
Hey Everyone, I've been in the market to buy a new Ford pick up for some time now. I like the new 6.7's but not the price. I recently found 2 new 2010 F350 Larriats on a lot for a pretty good price.
After reading alot of the disappointment that some of the members have discussed here, are the 6.4 engines all that bad or is it just a handful that are? Will I be disappointed once I leave the lot? Any help and opinions would be greatly appreciated. |

To Buy or Not To Buy??
I'm looking at buying a NEW 2010 6.4. With some of the unhappiness that some of the owners have with that particular engine, is it all that bad?
Or am I just wasting my time with it? Seems like some have mixed emotions about it. Any input would be greatly appreciated. |

Legitimately new? Or new to you? They're good engines. Just as with any motor, things will have their quirks. Find the job number and if it is new, see if they have done updated warranty work while it was still in fleet.

By the time the 2010s were released, most of the bugs were worked out. The job number only applies to the 2008 trucks for the most part.
I love my 6.4, and have thought about buying a year or 2 newer to get the CC. I think it's a good truck, especially after its tuned and deleted. They have their flaws, but so does every other diesel motor offered. |

It's brand new only 48 miles on it and never registered. Would the dealer provide the info to me on any flashes that they have done if asked?

Ever wonder why its still on the lot?
Ford can't give it away because the 6.7 is so much better. In order to make the 6.4 liveable, plan to tune it. |

I'd snatch it up. You'll probably get a great deal.

You'll definitely have a lot of warranty left on the truck so if something does go wrong, just bring it in. The 6.7 is a very nice truck but if you can get a good deal on a 2010 and it is the trim level you want and cab configuration, I wouldn't pass it up for a 2011. The 6.7 is a nice truck but I don't think it is the be all, end all. There will always be something newer and "better" than the previous year's model. After all, companies are in business to make money so a change here and there isn't that big of a deal. I'd drive the 2010 stock for a little bit and then decide if you want to tune it. The 6.4 is a very capable truck even with the emissions stuff on it. Only downside is the fuel economy.

Buy it and dont look back. Tune it and be way happier. Tuning it not only gives you the power, but it gives you the MPG as well as giving you greater longevity because you wont have dilution issues from fuel getting in your oil through the regen process.
