Basic SCT Questions

Gentleman,

Two very easy questions, but I want to make sure I do this properly as I am still new to the diesel world. I have a 6.4L with an SCT tuner:

1. If the truck currently has a performance tune from the tuner and I unplug both batteries in the truck what happens to the tune? Does the computer reset to stock since there is no power?

2. It seems that the SCT tuner has an upgrade for the firmware via the website. Do I have to reload the stock tune in the truck, then upgrade the firmware and then reload the performance tune? Or can I just upgrade the firmware and reload the performance tune?

if you unplug the batteries, the tune will stay on the truck.

When I do anything with my SCT, I always return the truck to stock first. It is just added protection in case something happens with a download.
