Hey guys just bought a 08 king ranch last week. Will get pictures up soon. I am new to the site but have already learned alot on here about these trucks. Love the truck so far lots of power!! Old truck was an 05 gas GMC. Like this truck way more.
Welcome, i have an 08 kr and i came from a 08 chevy 4x4 and man does this truck blow the chevy out of the water in comfort, power, and overall more truck.
Tune it and dont look back. I assume you have an oasis report already for the truck? If there was nothing wrong with it you should be good to go. Usually if it was going to happen, it would happen early in the trucks life.
Ya i got the oasis report and ya thats what i have been reading is the problems are usually early on. What wiyh the transmissions hold. Planning on intake, mini max with kem tunes and 5 inch exhaust!!!
The tranny I have heard is a tad weaker in the job 1's but will easily hold the power for a long time. That being said, you pay to play. I have 90k on my truck ( 75% towing miles) and getting ready to put a tranny in it.
Waiting for rearend rebuild. Clutch packs were stuck and left metal shavings to ruin bearings and all. Then its on to tuning!! Should i straight pipe or delete? Black or mini? Kem or no kem? Also is air intake worth it? Thanks guys
def, get the full straight pipe, it sounds so sweet with that 5", IMO get the mini the black isnt worth the extra money, i dont have any KEM tunes but i would like to try them, as far as the H&S tuning i love it, it is great, and yeah like black cloud said, def get the intake if you plan on running a high HP tune you will need that
I ran with just a delete for a long time. it served its purpose but these trucks sound great straight piped. I have a 5" dp back and it sounds GOOD! I cant speak for the black max or the mini, but I will tell you to get the KEM tunes. I love my KEM tunes. If you are going to run any tuning file above the 210 you will need an intake. EGT's start to get a little warm in the 250 and above tunes with out an intake. Look at S&B or AFE for your intake needs. Both are great intakes, its all personal preference at that point.
