can i buy parts at international dealer??

i buy all of my diesel parts (even oil and filters... everything) at the local Ford dealer. i enjoy the quality and customer service but i do not enjoy the prices. i know you can get the parts through international dealers but i dont know how. can i just go in there and tell them the truck i have and they can look it up? or do i need to research on my own to cross the numbers. right now im looking to get a thermostat and an engine block heater cord. any advice is appreciated.
