New Texan to PSD! Need help/advice on buying a nice '09...

Hey guys, just signed up today from Houston, TX. I've only heard great things about this place from the forum I frequently visit, f150online.com. I'm putting my '11 F-150 FX2 up for sale in the next few days and going with a '08-'10 F-250. I found one that has been heavily modded that I like, but I literally have no clue what to look for or if it is in good of condition as the owner says. I've never owned a diesel and don't know anyone that has one customized like this. If you guys wouldn't mind, I'll post up the craigslist link so you can take a look:

2009 F250 Custom Lifted

I saw the truck and drove it yesterday. Other than a few body dings and scratches, it looks real nice and seems to drive nice to me. It has only had 1 owner. He texted me today saying he would take $34k for it, so I might try and talk him down lower. Unless you guys suggest to run the other way! I would rather buy a truck that has most of the stuff I want done to it and tweak a few things instead of starting from scratch. The owner claims he is getting 16-18 mpg with all of the mods and recently got over 20 mpg on a highway trip to OK. To me that sounded outrageous, but then again I really have no clue.

I figured I would post in here compared to the newbie forum since it is a 6.4. If my post needs to be moved, please let me know!

Thanks for any help/advice!

I think it looks sweet. That price seems to be pretty fair, have you seen the oasis report on the truck?

I hope you like to workout because owning that big black truck is going to be a work-out keeping clean

good luck and keep us posted.

Haha well lucky me because I like to workout and I have to for my job! I know black is a pain to keep clean, that's why I have avoided it for the last 2 trucks I've owned. But to me nothing looks better when clean!

I have not seen the oasis report, but I did some searching and it appears I can go to any dealer and get this done? Must I have the truck present?

I just snooped around the Texas forum on here and they listed some good mechanics in my area. I'm going to talk to the owner to see if he is okay with letting me taking it to one of them so they can check everything out.

Thanks

Good looking truck.

And oh yeah, black is tough to keep clean. But when all shined up, it sure looks good!

The owner of that truck is a member of the forum. I have seen the pics before. I will look around and see if I can find his forum name. If I recall I have never seen him post on here asking about issues though. So thats a good thing.
