who uses TOW/HAUL mode with a tuned 6.4?
I have an 08 6.4 with a mini maxx and intake and exhaust, im just wondering who uses the tow/haul mode on the gear selector when towing with the tuner? i never have most of my loads ar 5k to 8k boats, and the occasional 12k to 16k tractor and implement. what exactly does this do and does it work correctly if you have a tuned truck? and of course h&s tunes my tranny

Tow/Haul Mode
I use the tow/haul mode every time that I tow, I like it cause the torque convert does not look up so quick. the only thing that sucks is, when in tow haul mode i don't get lock up till 60 mph. I have never tried to not to use tow/haul mode, does it still down shift when you need it to? I have mods in sig. I run the Mild tune on Mild tranny setting. do you run hot with no tranny power when you pull? I have thought about trying it to see if mpg would be a little better.

when i tow, i have the HD tune loaded but i run light loads on wild and heavy loads on either mild or stock depending how heavy, and i always have had the S2L tranny tune, but i just changed to the S2M tranny tune because TC lock at 45mph was to low, now it locks at 53, but when im towing and i need some speed to pass it down shifts just fine

Try it, I think you will see a difference, all though I have never tried it your way. But when you turn on tow/haul you can fill it gear down. I will try your way tomorrow to see if i like that. I will repost.

Works fine for me with the HOT DAMN tune, I like the Tow/Haul mode cause if you lightly step on the brake pedal it will down shift a couple gears.... I towed a 12k trailer loaded( I mean LOADED with 3/4 round gravel) and city driving in Tow Mode on Wild setting( watching gauge like a Hawk) everything was normal... I have a 3k trailer thats my car/small tractor hauler that I can tow normally w/o using Tow/Haul, but since I found out that it down shifts it helps slowing down.....I have noticed that without a trailer using Tow/Haul mode the trans holds gears longer and shifts just a lil bit harder.... but it could be me....

yea it for sure helps down shifting. That is one thing i miss about my 6.7 cummins. It had an awesome exhaust brake
