Question Coolant and Balance Question

Good day ORG, Coolant question for you. Who has checked the coolant level for the PH Balance? What do I need to do this and how often do you check your ph level? What is the proper PH Balance Level? I would like to do this and not have to take it back to the dealer and have it checked. Thanks

I take it that the test strips would come with directions on where it needs to be or do you have to find that information else where? I am also curious about this.

Need to test the nitrates. You can buy the strips at Napa. You want to get a reading above 800 ppm if I recall correctly, test the coolant before it gets hot.

Just an update, I just tried to order the strips through 1-800-768-8632 and the lady told me the Rotunda part # 328-0001 (4 strips) had been replaced. The replacement part was for 70 strips at over $30 She was apologetic, but I'm not 100% sure she knew what she was talking about. I told her thanks, but no thanks.

I then called ACUSTRIP at 973-299-8237 and the lady there knew right away what I wanted. She took my info and $5.67 later they are in the mail.

Napa sells the kit for a lot of strips, probably 30-50, I forget, its sitting in my shop, for 25 dollars I believe. PH should be around 8.0, Nitrates should be 800-1200ppm, and coolant concentrations should be at 50% (freeze protection at -34*f). Make sure you look at the expiration date before you buy the strips...the first time I bought them at Napa they were a month away from expiring....

Good info.

So is the PH balance universal for all brands and kinds of coolant?
